Nova Scotia (June 20, 2012) – Golf Coastal Canada, Canada’s premier golf destination, announces the opening of Cabot Links (www.cabotlinks.com) in Nova Scotia, the country’s first authentic links course. This extraordinary oceanfront course is the newest project by celebrated builder Mike Keiser of Oregon’s Bandon Dunes fame. Designed by renowned Canadian architect Rod Whitman, Cabot Links runs along the coastal dunes between the quaint town of Inverness and the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Located on the grounds of a former coalmine, Cabot Links gives golfers a unique and challenging course amongst a stunning backdrop. Players experience a sense of traveling from a central, busy location to a serene, open land, as the holes meander naturally from Inverness down the shore in classic Links style; the walking-only course literally ‘links’ the land to the sea. The minimalistic landscape connects the course to the historic town of Inverness with breathtaking views of the coast. Cabot Links showcases uninhibited views, allowing golfers to see all points on the fairway from tee to green, and every hole affords an ocean view and five holes run parallel to the beach.

Cabot Links offers traditional caddying that involves both the golfer and the expertly trained caddy walking the course, as well as carriers who are responsible for bringing bags, cleaning golf balls and raking sand traps.
In addition to the 18-hole Cabot Links, the course will offer luxury accommodations at the new Cabot Links Lodge. Designed by award‐winning, Halifax-based architect Susan Fitzgerald the Lodge features four types of guest rooms, each offering floor‐to‐ceiling views of the entire golf course and sea. Suite interiors, designed by Alexandra Angle, integrate traditional and contemporary elements to create a luxurious destination to unwind after world‐class golf experience.
Located within Cabot Links Lodge, the new Panorama Restaurant and Cabot Bar offer guests the finest in Cape Breton dining. Panorama Restaurant incorporates locally sourced seafood, pastas, game and authentic Cape Breton cuisine. With floor-to-ceiling windows, the restaurant captures the scenic views both on and off the golf course. Cabot Bar features an exceptional curated wine list, combining Canadian and international wine selections.
2012 Greens Fees start at $110 for guests of The Cabot Links Lodge, and $130 for non-hotel guests.
For adventure and entertainment off the course, guests can enjoy the many miles of Inverness Beach with the warmest water north of the Carolinas, as well several walking paths and hiking trails throughout Cape Breton. Visitors can immerse themselves in local culture with Gaelic song and dance at local music venues, restaurants and pubs. The nearest airport is the private Port Hawkesbury, 50 miles from the course, with Halifax Airport under 200 miles from Cabot Links.
