CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, May 1, 2024 – Evnroll, the award-winning putter line featuring patented ‘SweetFace’ Technology, has added to its product line with the launch of three of its Neo Classic models in the new 38 Tour Spec line – the ER2 wide blade, ER5 mallet and ER8 mallet.
“When the Belly putter was banned in 2016 with the USGA’s no-anchoring rule, the “Counter-Balanced” putter was born,” says Evnroll CEO and chief designer, Guerin Rife. “At a couple inches shorter and a longer grip, it had a brief run on the PGA Tour and with the golfing masses.”
As often happens in the golf equipment world, trends reappear and take on a new life. In 2023 Wyndham Clark battled Rickie Fowler down the stretch to win the US Open. Both were using a Counter-Balanced putter. The following week Kegan Bradley won with the same putter and soon after Rickie got it done. The continued success of the Counter-Balance putter design has given it a permanent seat at the equipment table.
According to Rife, “The sweet-spot length on the PGA Tour is 38” long with a 17” grip and a 370-to-400-gram head weight. At this length and head weight it requires a stiff ski-pole type shaft. The 17” grip allows golfers of differing heights to place their hands on the grip without the need to have different length putters, so one-size-fits-all.”
The advantage of this longer shaft and grip is that it promotes a one-piece pendulum stroke with little or no wrist action, keeping the putter face square to the target line throughout the entire swing path.
“So often the average amateur golfer will run out and purchase an off-the-shelf version of what is winning on the PGA Tour only to find that they are not having the same result,” added Rife. “In the case of the 38 Tour Spec it can only help them improve, as long as they pick the right line.”
Every Evnroll putter is 100% CNC milled and features the company’s patented SweetFace Technology. Precisely milled parabolic grooves deliver even ball speeds from center and off-center hits. Variable steel & tungsten sole weights enhance balance and stability.
The new 38 Tour Spec is an exciting addition to Evnroll’s innovative line of technology driven, performance enhancing putters.
