Golfers Now Can Receive Interactive Online Instruction from a Pool of More than 50 Certified Instructors
ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 30, 2012 – Golf Channel announced today the rollout of its new online instruction platform, SwingFix (www.GolfChannel.com/swingfix), giving golfers of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to receive timely, personalized instruction through their mobile devices and home computers.
SwingFix allows golfers to upload video of their golf swing for analysis, tips and recommendations from an instructor of their choice from an independent network of professionals located throughout the country. Golfers have the ability to choose their instructor, or SwingFix can match the instructor and student based on proximity. The instructors will be able to give viewers a voice-over video analysis of their golf swing, provide additional swing tip videos to help correct any swing flaws, and also will have the ability to communicate directly with the student during the course of the lesson plan.
The SwingFix teaching platform is completely web-based and requires no special software for the teacher or student, allowing for flexibility and convenience with lessons or video submissions. Golfers also can choose single or multiple-lesson packages based on varying prices.
Golf Channel’s signature instruction shows The Golf Fix and School of Golf will regularly showcase SwingFix video submissions on their respective shows. These featured videos will be analyzed by Golf Fix’s host Michael Breed and School of Golf host Martin Hall.
“SwingFix is the perfect solution for golfers who want to improve their games but don’t have the time for traditional lessons,” said Michael Breed, host of The Golf Fix and a PGA of America Professional. “Today’s golfers are more tech-savvy than ever. SwingFix can deliver personalized lessons on their schedule, whether that’s at two in the morning or in the middle of the day.”
“SwingFix is the perfect complement to our growing instruction platform, and will offer golfers more ways to enjoy the game,” said Will McIntosh, senior vice president, business strategy and development for Golf Channel New Media Ventures. “We believe SwingFix will break down barriers that discourage the vast majority of golfers from taking lessons to improve their golf games.”
SwingFix will be promoted online to consumers through GolfNow.com, GolfChannel.com and on Golf Channel’s instruction-related programming on-air. SwingFix was developed in partnership with SwingPal.com, launched in 2011 and founded by former Rivals.com executive Mike Comegna.
