This package, available on Sundays in June through August, includes nine holes of golf for two on either acclaimed course after 2 p.m., and dinner for two at the Wacootah Grille or The Burnt Onion Kitchen & Brews, two unique and delicious dining establishments. Price does not include tax, and dinners include select menu items.
Valid through June 1, golf groups can take advantage of a preseason rate of $87 to play one of Brauer’s highly touted championship designs.
“It has been another difficult, drawn out winter here in northern Minnesota, but we’re thrilled to welcome golfers back to Giants Ridge and commence the 2023 season,” says John Kendall, Director of Golf. “We pride ourselves on providing a first-class golf experience, and our superb courses and amenities continue to cement us as a must-visit resort in the Midwest.”
A convenient three-hour drive from the Minneapolis – St. Paul metro area, Giants Ridge boasts two of the highest ranked layouts in the state, The Quarry and The Legend. Although both tracts were designed by renowned course architect Jeffrey Brauer, each course features its own unique layout and character.
Ranked the No. 1 public course in Minnesota by Golfweek, the appropriately named Quarry is built on the site of a former sand quarry and iron ore mine. Dramatically raised tees and hazards forged from reclaimed and repurposed mine land set The Quarry apart from other courses and provide dramatic Iron Range vistas.
Another aptly named layout – The Legend – offers truly legendary golf and also ranks in the top-10 in the state’s public golf offerings. Carved out of the Superior National Forest, the player-friendly resort course plays through towering pines and alongside glittering Sabin Lake. The Legend celebrated its 25th anniversary last year, and spearheaded the Iron Range into becoming a world-renowned golf destination.
Offering unbeatable value and 36 thrilling holes, Giants Ridge continues to shine as one of Minnesota’s best golf destinations. The year 2022 was a banner one for the resort – Golf Digest bestowed its highly coveted “Editor’s Choice Award” in the Best Golf Resorts in the Midwest Category to Giants Ridge for the fourth year running. Celebrating the “best of the best” golf destinations, Giants Ridge was one of only eight resorts listed in the Midwest and the only destination in Minnesota.
Giants Ridge received further plaudits in Golfweek’s latest public course rankings. The Quarry moved up one spot from the year prior for a T-35th ranking, while The Legend rose 11 spots to 119th. The splendid resort and its courses have also received accolades from GOLF Magazine, MyGolfSpy and GolfPass, among others.
Besides its two revered golf layouts, Giants Ridge offers numerous crystal-clear lakes, rivers and streams ideal for swimming, boating and fishing. Hiking and biking trails also cut through the towering pines found in the area, and chairlift rides offer breathtaking views of the stunning Iron Range.
Giants Ridge is also revered as the Midwest’s top-rated skiing and snowboard hotspot in the winter months. Snow adventures abound with 35 downhill ski runs, over 60 km of fine-groomed Nordic ski trails (which once served as Olympic training grounds) and some of Minnesota’s hottest snowboarding terrain parks.
