TUGR and CGX Create Partnership, Further Uniting College Golf Camps and Tournaments

The Universal Golf Rankings adds educational tools for CGX camp participants and coaches.
LOS ANGELES, CA – College Golf Experience (CGX), the leading college golf education and camp company exclusively endorsed by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), announces a new partnership with The Universal Golf Rankings (TUGR) – an industry leader in accurate, unbiased, all-inclusive, and understandable rankings and advanced analytics. TUGR will provide CGX camp participants with a platform to help track their junior golf ranking, tournament mapping, performance trends, and improvement insights.
“TUGR has developed one of the most innovative platforms for ranking tournament golfers, providing a vital tool for college coaches to utilize during the recruiting process,” said CGX founder and CEO, Joshua Jacobs. “CGX is invested in educating parents and juniors on creating the best path to college golf and finding the right fit. TUGR provides an invaluable educational tool for juniors and parents to better understand how they accurately compare to other players. We are very excited to be able to partner with them and impact both players and coaches.”
Under this new partnership, CGX will provide coaches with TUGR rankings prior to all CGX camps, including Tournament Prep Camps, Prospect Camps, as well as Exposure Camps (CGX Top25 Camps, Ivy Golf Institute Camps, DIII Camps, and International Camps). CGX will also provide juniors and parents with access to player TUGR rankings, plus discount codes to upgrade to TUGR Legend and Hero package subscriptions. In addition, new academic data will be created on players covering GPA, SAT, and ACT, allowing coaches easy access to expanded player reports.
“The ability to develop this data and provide access for coaches to track and easily filter the information will save coaches a ton of time when trying to find the best fit for their teams,” continued Jacobs.
TUGR Junior uses head-to-head matchups and the power of cloud computing to rank players with incredible precision, delivering unmatched insights, analytics, and actionable ideas for game improvement. TUGR player analytics include basic scoring breakdowns such as average score, low round, best four-round average, scoring volatility, and scoring averages on par 3s, 4s, and 5s, to name a few. In addition, other key stats utilized on the platform factor in the number of tournaments played, competitors played against, competitors beaten, win rate, and head-to-head with ranked opponents. TUGR has the largest and deepest database of junior golfers and the most accurate, unbiased, and all-inclusive way to rank junior golfers. It leverages a cloud-based optimizer and a mathematically elegant algorithm to rank players with incredible accuracy.
“We are very excited to partner with College Golf Experience and look forward to this new venture together,” said Jeff Bullock, Co-Founder of TUGR. “CGX, with how they bring together juniors and college coaches, is a perfect fit for TUGR, allowing us to provide the most accurate rankings and comprehensive data for players as they bring their ranking, scores, and tournament resume to life. It’s a game-changer for coaches who love the platform and how simple it is to access so much key data when evaluating players during recruiting. The more we interact with the CGX team, the more we see this as a natural partnership due to our shared values and goals.”
CGX connects junior golfers and their parents with college coaches for opportunities to gain exposure, learn from each other, and receive education about the college golf landscape and the path to get there. Designed for young men and women ages 12-18, these educational camps feature seminars led by college coaches on all aspects of college golf, the recruiting process, and course management and strategy – including open Q&A sessions for parents. CGX camps also include college golf practice sessions with skill development and challenges and on-course coach and player engagement. Parents are invited to participate every step of the way.
