Inaugural Golf Tournament Series to Showcase Family Fun Across The Omni Golf Collection
(DALLAS, TX) – Omni Hotels & Resorts, the official hotel partner of the PGA TOUR and PGA of America, is proud to announce a year-long celebration of golf, family and competition with the introduction of The Generation Cup, a first-of-its-kind tournament series across its golf portfolio for players of all ages and skill levels.
The Generation Cup aims to build camaraderie among families who love to play golf with generational ties being the main prerequisite to compete. In this inaugural year, qualifiers will be hosted at each Omni golf resort, for a total of 12 events across the country from May 2024 through April 2025.
The year-long tournament will be made up of teams in three divisions including the “Grandparent & Grandchild” division, the “Parent & Child or Aunt / Uncle & Niece / Nephew” division and the “PGA Professional & Family Member” division. The format is a two-person modified best ball “shamble.” The top gross and net teams from each division will advance to the National Championship.
“Golf has seen a surge of new interest in recent years and at Omni, we believe there is no better way to celebrate the game than playing with your loved ones,” says Spencer Cody, Corporate Director of Club and Golf for Omni Hotels & Resorts. “The Generation Cup will not only offer opportunities for competition and fun in our communities, but it will be the perfect way to showcase the world-class portfolio of golf destinations Omni encompasses.”
