GOLFONAUT LAUNCHES NEW AND IMPROVED SMARTWATCH APPLICATION WITH 3D REPLAY FEATURES

Golfonaut, the French-founded smartwatch application for golf amateurs, is releasing an updated version of its iOS app, including new and improved features to optimize the user experience by immersing players in the emotion of the game. The new version aims to provide more data for golf amateurs, helping to improve their golf game through 3D replays.

GOLFONAUT: DEMOCRATIZING DATA FOR IMPROVED PERFORMANCE AND PRACTICALITY
A French startup, Golfonaut was founded to expand access to sporting data and facilitate metrics for golf amateurs using Apple Watch technology. Previously, golfers looking to target the green needed specialty equipment, which used GPS to locate the distance to the hole. Golfonaut uses the technology already built into Apple Watches to estimate the distance to the green, thereby enabling the user to correctly select their club and more accurately drive the ball. The easily accessible Apple Watch touchscreen also makes it simple for players to retrieve their data quickly while playing and easily keep track of their score.
“I founded Golfonaut to make sports data accessible to amateur golfers,” explains Remi Vanbaelinghem, Founder and CEO of Golfonaut. “By using the ubiquitous iOS technology, our app is fully integrated into smartwatches many players already use – no need to buy an additional watch. Thanks to the app’s features, golfers can easily determine which club to use, and can even save their scores to compare results.”

GOLFONAUT 2.0 : AN ENHANCED VERSION WITH SUPERIOR REPLAY FEATURES

Golfonaut has now expanded the app’s functionalities by adding a new 3D modeling feature. With Golfonaut 2.0, golfers can record their strikes and putts by simply tapping the app before each swing – Once activated, Golfonaut records the golfer’s position, swing speed and accuracy, allowing them to determine if their gameplay is effective. Afterwards, the round is available as a detailed and realistic 3D modeled- replay; useful not only for analysis, but also for sharing with family and friends.
In addition to this revolutionary replay aspect, Golfonaut 2.0 will make several additional improvements, including:
Advanced performance coaching: fairway hits, green hits, club distances, and so much more Integrated health data- Golfonaut’s data contributes to daily steps and activity in Apple Watch’s activity “ring” system A visual makeover for a sleek new interface Continued commitment to data confidentiality : customer health data is never saved in the app, and all information exchanges are secure Maps of 35,000 golf courses worldwide including 15,000 courses in the US Updated precision metrics: swing speed, distance and accuracy for each strike in addition to overall score
“My hope is that the Golfonaut app will encourage users to improve their game, and spend more time on the course.”, ]says Remi, “Golf is a sport that can be enjoyed at any age, and our goal with Golfonaut is to expand access by providing top-notch data for amateur players, allowing everyone to experience the joy that comes with a great round of golf.”
Golfonaut 2.0 will be available on the App Store starting on April 24, 2023.
