With the USGA issuing new guidance on safe golfing during the COVID-19 pandemic, many golfers are asking how they can continue golfing whilst maintaining social distancing and minimizing their risk of exposure to the virus.
The guidance issued to golfers and golf clubs across all 50 states asks for heightened awareness of exposure to COVID-19 on surfaces such as flagsticks, rakes, and carts. Some courses are insisting on one cart per player, while others are allowing golfers to continue playing, but only if they walk.
The British-built Stewart Golf X9 Follow is at the very cutting edge of technology for walking golf and means golfers can remain six feet away from their playing partners without each of them needing to have a separate ride-on cart. In addition, golfers using their own walking cart means they’re the only one who ever uses it (unlike a ride-on rental cart), so they can be comfortable it’s safe to use.
Stewart Golf’s Follow technology lets golfers choose to have the cart follow along at the ideal social distance right behind them. The X9 Follow also has full remote control to provide complete freedom on the fairway. It’s the perfect way to carry on playing golf and stay safe from the COVID-19 virus.
Mark Stewart, CEO of Stewart Golf USA, said: “Like the USGA, we stand with the entire golf community during this time because we all love the game for the escape it provides, as well as the boost it gives our physical and mental health.
“We already know the advantages of walking golf, but if people haven’t been ready to dispense with the ride-on cart before, then the new USGA advice on Safe Golf makes now the perfect time to make the leap – and to discover the X9 Follow.
“It seems that for the foreseeable future, walking golf is safe golf, and we think the Stewart Golf X9 Follow is the ultimate in walking golf!”
