March 3, 2020 – The Abaco Club on Winding Bay, Abaco, The Bahamas — Southworth Development announced that it has named Shane Krige General Manager of The Abaco Club on Winding Bay in The Bahamas. Shane joins The Abaco Club following two years as Chief Operating Officer at Baker’s Bay Golf and Ocean Club.
Over the previous 29 years and through many leadership roles, Shane has had a distinguished career in the hospitality industry – leading 5-star operations for internationally renowned brands during important growth periods. Prior to his time at Baker’s Bay, Shane held several General Manager positions around the world: managing The Fairmont Washington D.C., launching the Ritz-Carlton’s flagship location in India, and repositioning the famed Plaza Hotel in New York in the aftermath of the 2008 recession. Prior to those posts, Shane served as Managing Director at Rosewood’s Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas and as Hotel Director at the Marriott-owned Grosvenor House in London.
Shane was born and raised in South Africa and is a graduate of Mercyhurst University, where he earned a degree in Hotel Administration. Outside of work, he enjoys participating in sports. Shane is an avid motocross rider and loves spending time with his wife Patricia, son Shane “J.R.”, and daughter Madeleine.
