VESSEL RENEWS PARTNERSHIP WITH AMERICAN CENTURY INVESTMENTS AND NBC SPORTS FOR 2015 AMERICAN CENTURY CHAMPIONSHIP
Celebrity Golf Tournament to Be Outfitted with Custom Vessel Golf Bags to Support Stowers Institute for Medical Research
June 2, 2015 (CARLSBAD, Calif.) — Vessel today announced a renewed partnership with American Century Investments and NBC Sports, who will design custom golf bags for the anticipated 26th Annual American Century Championship (ACC) on July 14 – July 19, at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Club. The tournament is held annually to benefit the Stowers Institute for Medical Research.
As part of the partnership, Vessel will customize a stand golf bag for the more than 80 celebrities participating in the tournament. Celebrities will sign his or her golf bag when they arrive at the tournament before each bag is made available for auction.
All proceeds from the autographed bags will go toward funding medical research. Last year, Vessel raised nearly $50,000 for the Stowers Institute for Medical Research.
To participate in the auction, bidders may log on to www.celebritygolfbags.com. Bidders may also participate in the auction via text message by sending “GOLFBAG” to 52182. Minimum bids for autographed golf bags will begin at $200.
The American Century Championship is the premier celebrity golf tournament, featuring athletes, film and television personalities including Charles Barkley, Aaron Rodgers and Larry the Cable Guy, among others. This year will mark Vessel’s second year partnering with ACC and NBC Sports.
The Stowers Institute for Medical Research is a world-class biomedical research organization focused on improving the understanding of fundamental biological processes and using this knowledge to guide the development of innovative approaches to treat, diagnose and prevent disease.
The Vessel stand bag is the finishing touch to Vessel’s golf line. Featuring its patented stability base, pad-lock secure valuables pouch, and magnetic easy access ball pocket, this bag has both unique innovation and premium design making it highly comparable to other bags on tour.
Last year, NFL player for the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers’ golf bag auctioned for $2,000, followed by Jim McMahon, Roger Clemens, Brian Urlacher and Annika Sorenstam.
