PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Jason Dufner lost a sizeable lead and a major championship two years ago, but erased that disappointment at renowned Oak Hill Country Club to capture the 95th PGA Championship. Dufner became the final member of the game’s elite foursome to qualify for the 31st PGA Grand Slam of Golf, Oct. 15-16, at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda.
Dufner, who posted a final-round 2-under-par 68 for a two-stroke victory, joins Masters Champion Adam Scott, U.S. Open Champion Justin Rose and Open Champion Phil Mickelson in the 2013 PGA Grand Slam of Golf.
Two years after losing to Keegan Bradley in a playoff in the 93rd PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club, Dufner got his redemption with a two-stroke victory over Jim Furyk at 10-under- par. Dufner entered the final round trailing Furyk by a stroke, but was nearly flawless when it counted most. On the weekend, he made just two bogeys in his final 28 holes – those coming on the last two holes.
