HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – September 21, 2011 – Cleveland® Golf/Srixon® congratulates staffer Jason Kokrak for his first career victory at the Nationwide Tour’s 2011 Albertsons Boise Open in Idaho over the weekend. Kokrak, who was a late addition to the field, won the tournament with a score of 18-under-par 266 to earn $130,500 and move from No. 70 to No. 13 on the Nationwide Tour money list. The 26-year old from Charlotte, N.C., started his final round at Hillcrest Country Club tied for the lead before posting a bogey-free, 4-under 67 to become the Nationwide Tour’s 10th first-time winner and fourth rookie winner in 2011. Kokrak, who is ranked No. 1 on the Nationwide Tour in driving distance (320.3 yards), averaged 343.6 yards off the tee for the week and had only one bogey over his final 59 holes.
“I tried to pick and choose where my length was most advantageous,” said Kokrak. “The key was picking the right time to be aggressive and the right time to play away from the pins. It was important to leave yourself a lot of uphill putts and also yourself plenty of opportunities.”
Kokrak played a Cleveland® Launcher® Ultralite SL 290 driver (9°- Miyazaki™ Kusala Black 83X), a Cleveland® Launcher® Ultralite FL fairway wood (14°- Miyazaki™ Kusala Black 83X), Cleveland® CG16™ Tour irons (3-PW), CG16™ wedges (52° and 56°), a Cleveland® 588™ (60°) wedge and a Srixon® Z-STAR™ XV ball, while wearing a Srixon® glove and carrying a Cleveland® Golf bag.
Kokrak’s victory was the seventh win on the 2011 Nationwide Tour for Cleveland® Golf/Srixon®, which currently boasts eight players in the top 25 of the money list – more than any other club manufacturer.
